The Navodaya admission process involves several steps to secure admission in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs), which are renowned government-run residential schools in India providing quality education to rural students.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for Navodaya admission, students must ¹ ²:

• Be studying in Class 5 for Class 6 admission
• Be between 9 and 13 years old (for Class 6 admission)
• Provide proof of studying in a rural school (for rural category applicants)

Application Process

1. Online Application: Submit the application form on the official website, navodaya.gov.in.

3. Fill Application Form: Provide personal details, school information, and upload required documents.
4. Submit Application: Complete and submit the application form before the deadline.

Required Documents

• Birth Certificate: Mandatory for age proof
• Aadhaar Card: Preferred for identity and age proof
• Rural Study Certificate: Mandatory for rural category applicants
• Domicile Certificate: Mandatory for proof of residence
• Transfer Certificate: Mandatory for academic history
• Medical Fitness Certificate: Mandatory for physical fitness
• Category Certificate: Mandatory for SC/ST/OBC applicants
• Previous Academic Records: Mandatory for educational background proof

Selection Process

1. JNV Selection Test (JNVST): An offline test assessing Mental Ability, Arithmetic, and Language skills.
2. Result Declaration: Results are declared after the test, and selected students are invited for document verification.
3. Document Verification: Submit required documents for verification.
4. Admission Confirmation: Admission is confirmed after successful verification.

Important Dates

• Application Deadline: Varies by year; for 2026-27, the deadline is August 13, 2025.
• Exam Date: December 13, 2025 (for 2026-27)
• Result Declaration: March/April 2026 (expected)

Lateral Entry
Admission to Class 9 and 11 is also possible through lateral entry. The application deadline for lateral entry is September 23, 2025
